Privacy Policy

This notice describes visitor information handled by Texas Residents Directory and the choices available to you. The reference pages do not ask you to open an account or keep copies of government records. Information typed into a search box may go to the company that runs the search results, while routine hosting logs are handled separately.

Information You Enter

A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form first travels in a request to a results page on this site. That page may offer a link to an outside search provider that includes the values you entered. The provider sets its own privacy and retention practices. If you send a message, the information in it is used to read and answer your request.

Server Logs and Cookies

Hosting services may record technical details such as an IP address, browser type, pages opened, and request time. A request URL can contain search values, so those values may appear in browser history or hosting logs. Log retention depends on the provider's settings. Analytics or advertising measurement may use cookies or similar tools where they apply.

How Visitor Information Is Used

Technical information may help operate the pages, resolve faults, count visits, and make general improvements. The site does not create visitor accounts. Analytics and advertising services, where used, apply their own terms to information they collect.

External Portals and Search Providers

Texas county and state offices, libraries, archives, and search providers each set their own privacy terms. Those terms apply when you submit information on their pages. Sponsored results are supplied by an outside company, whose handling of a search is governed by its own policies.

Service Providers and Disclosures

Hosting and support vendors may process technical logs as part of their work. Analytics or advertising partners may also receive the automatic information described above. Information may be disclosed when valid legal process requires it or when a visitor chooses to use an outside service.

Security and Retention

The site does not ask visitors to create an account or password. Hosting providers set their own request-log retention periods, and messages sent to the site may remain in its contact channel while they are handled. Do not include sensitive details in an ordinary search form.

Children's Information

The pages are intended for adults and are not designed for children. Personal information from a person under 18 is not knowingly collected. If you think a minor has sent personal information, contact us so it can be reviewed and removed.

Texas Privacy Choices

When a business and its data practices fall within the law, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, Business and Commerce Code Chapter 541, provides rights to access, correct, or delete personal data and to opt out of certain processing, subject to the law's scope and exceptions. See the Texas statute and the Attorney General's privacy rights and complaint information.

Use the Contact page to ask about data controlled by this site. A request here cannot erase or change an underlying public roll held by a Texas agency; contact that custodian for its records process.
