1. Nature of This Reference
Texas Residents Directory is run privately as a reference to public rolls, indexes, and historic directory collections about Texas. It does not store the government records themselves and has no formal connection with a public office, court, or records custodian.
2. Permitted and Prohibited Use
Use the pages only in ways allowed by law. You must not use the service or information reached through it to:
- Stalk, threaten, harass, intimidate, or injure another person
- Find a person shielded by a protective or restraining order
- Carry out identity fraud or another unlawful act
- Make a decision governed by the FCRA, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions
- Copy or republish large portions of the material through scraping or another method
- Disrupt the service or try to defeat its security
3. No Consumer Reporting Service
Texas Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq.). Information on these pages or returned by a linked search tool is not a consumer report and may not be used to assess eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by the FCRA.
4. External Services
Government databases and outside providers, including sponsored search services, set their own conditions and privacy practices. Texas Residents Directory does not control their content, uptime, charges, or handling of submitted data.
5. No Warranty
The reference is supplied "as is" and when available, without warranties. No promise is made that a page is complete, current, or error-free, or that an outside portal will function or return a correct result.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of these pages or a linked service, including a choice made after viewing a record.
7. Indemnification
You agree to protect the operators from claims or demands, including reasonable legal fees, that result from your misuse of the service or breach of these terms.
8. Copyright and Reuse
Copyright protects the original writing, logo, layout, and design. You may link to a page or quote a short passage with credit; you may not republish full pages or copy the material systematically.
9. Revisions
A revised version may be posted on this page. Continued use after the revision is posted means you accept the updated terms.
10. Restricting Access
Access may be blocked or limited, with or without notice, when someone violates these terms or abuses the service.
11. Texas Law
Texas law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, governs requests for existing records held by governmental bodies; it does not make this private reference a public custodian, and judicial records follow separate rules.
12. Severability
If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
13. Contact
Send questions about these terms through the Contact page.
